We delivered hundreds of meals through Meals on Wheels to Fulton County senior citizens and in many cases, were the only smiling faces seen that day.
We entertained children, served as tour guides and assisted at concerts and the Southeast Flower Show, all in support of the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
We sorted, inspected and packed thousands of cans and boxes of food for those in need at the Product Rescue Center of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
By playing with the children, bagging diapers, donating clothes, assisting at the Fashion Show and distributing backpacks and Christmas presents, we made life a little easier for the homeless patrons of the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.
We supported the arts by serving as docents at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Show House and ushers at concerts at Symphony Hall and Classic Chastain.
We hosted parties for and entertained senior citizens at the Benson Center.
We greeted ill and special needs campers, helped them settle in and assisted with field games at Camp Twin Lakes. We also provided office and promotional support for the Partners Card program.
We helped children make lobster and dinosaur puppets at the Center for Puppetry Arts, expanding knowledge about the cultural and historical influence of puppetry.
We adopted the Therapeutic Riding Program at the Chastain Horse Park as one of our philanthropies, assisting riders with health challenges develop competency and confidence while riding gentle giants.
We let waiting families in the Pediatric ICU at Egleston know that others were thinking of them by providing snacks. We made cheerful door signs and IV pole decorations to brighten the days of many sick children. We donated holiday gifts and helped at the Festival of Trees Christmas Parade, all benefiting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
For the Historic Oakland Foundation, we hosted events and assisted at lectures designed to raise awareness about and assist in the preservation of this cultural treasure.
We rocked the babies and played with the toddlers for hundreds of hours at My House. We helped with the Christmas party, donated gifts and supplies and made Angel ornaments for the benefit of those special “boarders.”
We were the life of the party at Northside Shepherd’s Center, bringing youth and high spirits to bowling expeditions, bingo, holiday parties and luncheons for low-income seniors. Our donations of everyday as well as special items were truly appreciated by those who have so little.
Our preparation and delivery of 30 meals at a time lightened the burden on dozens of families of critically ill children at the Ronald McDonald House.
For Small Dog Rescue we showed and cared for puppies and adult dogs at weekly adoption events in the effort to help them find loving families.
And finally, our on-site support of the Race for the Cure benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation helped raise thousands of dollars for breast cancer research and education.
All in all, we donated an estimated $108,000 worth of goods and services to our philanthropies during the year ending March 31, 2008. Many thanks to every one of you who shared your precious time, energy and resources to make the world a better place!
